With a wide range of emotions, we announce Dangerous Man Brewing will be closing our NE Minneapolis Taproom on Saturday, October 21st. We have never owned the building, so in that sense, our future there has always been uncertain.  But, it is with gratitude and excitement that our beloved space of 10+ years will become home to our dear friend Yia Vang’s restaurant – Vinai, our beloved space is in good hands and will continue to be a community gathering place.
We opened our doors in 2013 with a vision to make great craft beer, create a space for friends and families to gather, and contribute to the betterment of our neighborhood. Over the years, we have been humbled by our patrons’ overwhelming support and loyalty, who have become more than customers; you are part of our extended family.

Of all the folks to thank, it is our staff, past and present, that we are most grateful for. Their dedication over many years and many hurdles have been the greatest teachers we have had. Their commitment to our business and this amazing industry is the reason we have been successful. They have been the heart and soul of this establishment, and none of this would have been possible without every one of them.

What is next for DM? We have lots of ideas! Ones that have more outdoor space, more animals, more plants, just as much sense of community, and, as always, more innovation to strive for. WE ARE NOT DONE YET. We are going to take this winter to figure out which path forward looks the coolest, most fun, and a little Dangerous! In the meantime, we will keep making high-quality craft beer at our production facility, so look for us at your favorite spots and liquor stores.

To celebrate with you all, we are throwing a series of special events leading up to the closing date. We hope you can swing through and enjoy a last pint at our little taproom in NE Minneapolis.

Once again, we extend our sincere gratitude to the entire community, including our staff, volunteers, patrons, partners, friends, and family, for making these ten years truly unforgettable. Thank you all!

DM CLOSING TAPROOM FAQ

Why is the taproom closing?
Our lease was expiring, the landlords were selling the building and the new building owners had a different vision for the building. So this seemed like an opportune time for Dangerous Man to explore new possibilities for the company.

When are you closing?
Saturday, October 21st will be the last day the taproom is open to the public. The Growler Shop will be closing Saturday, October 14th.  We will be posting more information on our website and social media.

Who bought the building/what will it turn into?
Chef Yia Vang, who owns the Union Hmong Kitchens, Slurp, etc. will be building his restaurant Vinai in the taproom and growler shop space. You can find out more on his website.

Where is the new taproom?
Sarah and Rob are looking into other options for building and creating a new taproom experience. Expect an announcement in the Spring of 2024.

Where can I get DM beer in the future?
We will keep making great beer at our production facility in Maple Lake. Currently, it is available at many liquor stores and great spots around the metro area, see our updated map. Dangerous Man will also be on tap at Vinai when they open! So when you miss saddling up to the Dangerous Man bar and having a pint, you will be able to do that!

What about my gift card?
Well get in here and use it up!!  It will not be valid after our taproom closes, as we will no longer have a physical space and are unsure of what that looks like.

What does the future look like for DM?
It looks different than it does right now. The crystal ball is a bit cloudy at the moment but we are going to take the winter season to explore some options, write up a business plan, and launch something cool and Dangerous. The unknown is scary and uncomfortable but it is where the best ideas come from! WE ARE NOT DONE!
